Bible Scrapbooking-
Join us as we get to know some of the heroes of the Bible … Noah, Moses, David and more. Kids will create their personal bible using writing skills, story- telling, crafts. The Wonderful World of Birds- What birds are native to Wisconsin? Where do they make their homes? What do they eat? Do they migrate? What kind of feeders are they attracted to? We will build our own bird feeders and track their feedings, recording our findings. Community Activities- We will participate in events offered by the community…the library program, gym and swim, building a float for Holland Festival, Vacation Bible School, visits with residents of Cedar Grove Gardens. Nature Walks- The more you know about your surroundings the more you will appreciate our world. Nature walks are not only entertaining but teach us to observe our surroundings. Each week we will be doing just that – enjoying nature. |
Cooking-
Cooking should be as much fun as eating! Cooks will learn how to read a recipe, measure ingredients, and safety in the kitchen. The best part of cooking class is being the taste tester. Field Trips– Walking field trips around the community are being planned with local businesses. Last year’s trips included The Het Museum, National Exchange Bank, Soerens Woodworking, Cedar Grove Vet and more! Gardening– We are very excited to be in charge of the Little Shepherds Inn garden this summer. We will learn how to plant, maintain and harvest our crops. We will enjoy eating our green beans, beets, carrots, cucumbers, watermelons, and more. Who knows, we may discover a future farmer in the group! Science Experiments– Why do some colors melt faster than others? How to shrink an egg or how to explode one? We will learn interesting science facts by doing kid-friendly experiments. Maybe we have a future Einstein or Curie in our midst. |
